Like-minded indulgers in festive food and entertainment believe our five day cruise through the scenic and atmospheric Rhine Gorge, with its on board programme of fun-filled revelry, to be the perfect antidote to those dreary British November days. Optional coach excursions into the surrounding hillsides allow us to stock up on local tipples for the Christmas table back home, whilst visits to the illuminated waterside towns and villages offer plenty of ideas for gift shopping and preparations for Christmas. Aboard the seasonally decorated mps Lady Anne a warm and convivial party atmosphere prevails, with mouth-watering German & English festive fare to tickle the taste buds, and a nightly fun programme of entertainment to unleash the laughter. Itinerary
- Day 1: UK - Amsterdam
Leave from your selected departure point for the overnight ferry crossing from Newcastle to Amsterdam. - Day 2: Amsterdam - Andernach
We travel to Andernach and board the mps Lady Anne where you can relax or venture into the attractive Rhineland town. - Day 3: Andernach - Rudesheim (Christmas Eve)
Casting off early this morning we cruise up river, through the dramatic narrow Rhine Gorge, to the pretty town of Rüdesheim. Our optional Rüdesheim Delights excursion includes a visit to the wonderful mechanical music museum of Siegfried and a mug of Glühwein. After a traditional German Christmas Eve dinner you can settle back and enjoy the entertainment. - Day 4: Rudesheim - Boppard - Koblenz (Christmas)
We retrace our route back down the Rhine Gorge as far as Boppard, the 'pearl of the Rhine' and the meeting place of six valleys. After a traditional British Christmas Day lunch, you can relax on board, explore Boppard or join our optional magical coach excursion into the scenic Moselle Valley. Our cruise continues to the ancient walled city of Koblenz where we stop overnight for more fun and entertainment on board. - Day 5: Koblenz - Bonn (Boxing Day)
Our cruising route down the Rhine takes us past the Siebengebirge (Seven Mountains) to Bonn, our final destination. After a delicious Boxing Day lunch you can enjoy some free time and learn of the composer Beethoven's life, or join our optional excursion into the delightful Ahr Valley for a spot of wine tasting before rounding off with a final evening of entertainment. - Day 6: Bonn - Amsterdam
Having bidden farewell to our Captain and his crew we commence our return coach and overnight ferry crossing back to the UK. - Day 7: Newcastle - Local Area
