With over 3.5 million inhabitants, Morocco’s largest city well deserves its reputation. True to what visitors are led to believe, much of the area is steeped in history; settlers were first reported in Casablanca as far back as 700 BC and the city has near enough been one of the country’s most vital ports ever since. However, there is also a great deal to be discovered in terms of innovation, contemporary architecture and art, and the friendly dynamic of the residents.

Why not take in the incredible Moroccan heat by strolling along the beach? The luxurious suburb of Aïn Diab lies right on the edge of the coastline and is well worth a look around, but be warned – stay out for the nightlife and you may find it more expensive than some of London’s most exclusive clubs!

Do be sure to visit the Jewish Museum too – this is the only Jewish museum in the Islamic world and is extremely interesting.
