Cruise & Maritime Voyages has announced a roll-call of celebrities on board their upcoming themed cruises. Former MP and unlikely ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ hero, Ann Widdecombe; as well as ‘Allo Allo’ comedy legend, Sue Hodge will be joining Dana and William Allenby for this year’s 9-night Easter Cruise aboard Astoria sailing from Poole on 13 April. This ‘Fjordland Splendour’ cruise sails into some of Norway’s most beautiful and spectacular fjords including Hardangerfjord, Sognefjord and Nordfjord. Other calls include Flåm with its famous mountain railway; Olden for the dramatic Briksdal Glacier; and finally the historic port of Bergen.


CMV’s ‘Cookery Legends’ cruise on board Magellan departs from Bristol on 1 September for an 11-night ‘British Isles Discovery’ cruise. Britain’s favourite TV wine buff, Jilly Goolden who presented the BBC’s Food and Drink Show for twenty years, will be joining TV celebrity chef Rustie Lee. This cruise explores Orkney, Shetland and Tobermory on the Isle of Mull; plus Invergordon, Belfast, Ringaskiddy for Cork plus the delightful Normandy port of Honfleur.


The 7-nights ‘Soul Legends at Sea’ cruise aboard Columbus departs London Tilbury on 29 September bound for the Norwegian Fjords. The Drifters legend Roy Hemmings is the longest serving member of the legendary vocal group and brings instantly recognisable hits such as "Kissin' in the Back Row of the Movies", "Save the last dance for me" and "You're More Than a Number in My Little Red Book" to fans all over the world. Heralded as one of the greatest soul singers of our time, Roy will be joining world-wide headliners, The Three Degrees on board.


In other news, CMV has announced a series of regional sailings from Aberdeen, Belfast and Greenock in 2020. Britain’s leading independent cruise line now sails from 15 different UK and Irish ports; including its largest ever cruise programme of sailings from Scotland. The harbour of the Granite City - Aberdeen - has recently undergone major improvements and expansion to accommodate more ships. Cruises with CMV include a ‘Round Britain & River Seine Experience’; ‘Baltic Treasures & St Petersburg’; ‘Autumn Fjordland’; ‘Hidden Baltic Treasures’ and ‘Iceland Northern Lights’.
