Dubai the Jewel of the Middle East
Dubai is a 5 star playground bursting with the ultimate shopping, nightlife, cuisine and culture.
As well as a magnitude of activity right at the heart of the city, the beauty of Dubai is that it's surrounded by sprawling desert and crystal clear blue seas, so you'll be spoilt for choice for things to do whilst you're there.
Dubai’s traditional Arabian souks showcase the emirate’s finest local products, from gold, spices and textiles through to fruit and fish. The majority of souks are located in the Deira and Bur Dubai districts and are great places to haggle for a bargain. If your little one is at home in the water, why not take them on an amazing swim with dolphins? They won't believe their eyes as the dolphins interact with them and they'll be talking about it for years to come! If they'd prefer something more traditional, take them to a waterpark and see them have a wild time on the many rides, slides and attractions. The Yas Water Park even has smaller slides and a special childrens play area, so everyone's catered for.
If you're more comfortable on land, in the fast lane, try Ferrari World – the driving school that puts you in the driving seat. Three different courses mean there's something for everyone. Safety conscious kids can take driving lessons, learning to stop and take roundabouts. The Grand Prix gives them the chance to race and the training camp is where they can play in their very own tiny Ferraris, whilst parents take a pitstop.
If you want to experience Dubai’s desert, head out on a Sunset Safari. You'll do it all in the comfort of a 4x4 Jeep, as you cruise over the golden sand dunes. Watch a gorgeous sunset at a camel farm and journey to an Arabic camp where you'll be served a delicious BBQ and be entertained by a belly dancer. A great night out for all the family.
Once you have worked up an appetite, food in Dubai is not restricted to five star hotel restaurants and Michelin starred gourmet dining experiences. The richness and diversity of cuisines on offer here is the key to its world-class reputation. The emirate offers an incredible range of options - its shopping malls boast a range of ‘cheap eats’, while street stalls and local bistros offer visitors the chance to sample local specialties at a very reasonable rate. The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence offers a wide choice of cuisines from Chinese to seafood. Souk Al Bahar is a charming area located in the Downtown Dubai area on the Old Town Island, and has more than 22 restaurants and cafes lining the waterfront promenade.
