Introducing... the Brabant river vessel

Introducing... the Brabant river vessel

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is a familiar name in the world of cruising. The company’s four ships take the approach that ‘small is beautiful’ – indeed their largest ship, Balmoral only accommodates 1,350-guest passengers. They are justly proud of their Norwegian heritage and appreciate passengers want a wider choice of cruising options than is the norm in today’s world of long flights and short sailings. But now this venerable company is entering the sphere of river cruising. Between April and November, the 156-passenger river boat, Brabant, will sail on the Danube, Rhine, Main and Moselle – a total of 33 departures in 2018.

Built in 2006, Brabant is a stylish and comfortable river cruise boat and has everything that guests will need to make their holiday a memorable one: from bright and spacious public areas, to well-equipped bedrooms and ample deck space, from which to enjoy the superb views. With just four decks and fewer than 80 rooms and suites, staffed by 40 crew members, Brabant has the intimate and friendly feel that Fred. Olsen’s guests know and love.

Brabant’s classic design is smaller than many river boats, so guests will enjoy the usual hallmarks of Fred. Olsen’s take on cruising. In keeping with the company’s ocean-going fleet, this smaller-scaled vessel has the style, atmosphere and elegance of a country house hotel. The Amadeus Club is a great spot for peaceful relaxation, while you can socialise at the Lido Bar. Juliette balconies with panoramic windows are a feature of many of the rooms, so that you can enjoy expansive views of Europe’s most impressive waterways.

Fred. Olsen’s top five sought-after river cruises aboard Brabant in 2018 are a five-night ‘Delights of Holland in Bloom’ fly-cruise, departing from Düsseldorf on 10 April; a ten-night ‘Sailing from the Start of the Danube’ fly-cruise, departing from Hirsova, Romania, on 13 May; an eight-night ‘River Danube and City Discovery’ fly-cruise, departing from Budapest on 23 May; and a nine-night ‘Eastern European Danube Discovery’ fly-cruise, departing from Budapest on 4 May. Already proving popular are seven-night ‘Exploring the Scenic Moselle Valley’ fly-cruises, departing from Düsseldorf on 7 June, 5 July, 2 and 30 August, as well as 27 September.

With a Fred. Olsen River Cruise you’ll discover so much is included in the price.
