Marella Explorers May Debut

Marella Explorers May Debut

Marella Explorer, the latest addition to the Marella Cruises (formerly Thomson Cruises) fleet, is shortly to embark on her first sailing around the Mediterranean, departing Palma on 19 May. With a capacity for 1,924 passengers this is the company’s biggest ship yet. Following an intensive four-week transformation, this much-anticipated ship will feature Indigo - a new flagship bar, club and casino with wraparound sea views – as well as ten restaurants and ten bars, not to mention an indoor cinema plus a sports and family deck. Favourite haunts such as Snack Shack and Kora La are also part of the new look Marella Explorer.

Most notably on this transformed vessel is the first Champneys Spa at sea which will offer a full-service thermal suite, treatment suites with their own showers and mini saunas, a Finnish sauna with floor-to-ceiling windows, plus spa cabanas on the adults-only Veranda that come complete with thermal suite access. The Champneys name has been synonymous with health and wellbeing since it opened its doors in 1925 as the UK’s first true health spa.

Marella Cruises, part of TUI UK and Ireland, is the third largest cruise line in the UK. Passengers choosing a Marella Cruises holiday will be able to take advantage of flights from 22 regional UK airports, as well as a wide Cruise & Stay programme that combines a cruise holiday with a stay at one of more than 140 hotels across 10 destinations worldwide, including the luxurious TUI Sensatori collection.

Marella Cruises has unveiled new itineraries across Asia as part of its winter 2018 programme from November through to March. Marella Discovery will sail to 18 new ports of call on 14 new adult-only itineraries. The 14-night ‘Enchanting Far East’ cruises departs from Langkawi and the 14-night ‘Colours of the Far East’ cruises set sail from Laem Chabang (the port for Bangkok). For the first time in the company’s history, two ships will be based in Barbados for winter 2018. Marella Explorer will sail its first ever winter season and will be joined by Marella Celebration, operating established itineraries.

Marella Cruises offers a unique experience with unrivalled entertainment and food on board, tips are also included giving customers the peace of mind they need when budgeting for their cruise holiday. Although the name might be new, the same friendly welcome and fun experiences that past passengers on Thomson Cruises enjoyed can be relied upon.
