MSC Grandiosa Christening

MSC Grandiosa Christening

MSC Cruises newest, most environmentally-advanced ship was christened in the city of Hamburg in early November. The spectacular ceremony to name MSC Grandiosa included an immersive lightshow illuminating the ship as Godmother Sophia Loren officially named her 15th MSC Cruises ship. It was an extraordinary welcome for an extraordinary ship – one that’s equipped with advanced cutting-edge technologies and sets a new standard for sustainability at sea.

Highlights of the new 6,300-passenger flagship include: the iconic Mediterranean Promenade at the heart of the ship. Under the 323ft-long LED sky, guests can enjoy a varied entertainment programme as well as being able to indulge in world class food and drink. MSC Grandiosa also takes the onboard shopping experience to a new level with the indoor promenade offering mall-style boutiques, where guests will find various brands of clothing, jewellery and tech.

Elegant simplicity is the byword for the interior décor aboard MSC vessels. Extensive use of marble, brass, and wood reflects the best of Italian styling and design; clean lines and bold colours set a modern sophisticated tone.

The speciality restaurants located in the promenade include the new restaurant concept L'Atelier Bistrot, a French-inspired bar with lounge area, which also offers a stage and dance floor as well as a terraced seating. The entertainment highlight are two brand new shows from Cirque du Soleil at Sea - ‘COSMOS, Journey to the unbelievable’ and ‘EXENTRICKS, Expect the unexpected’.

MSC Grandiosa also features the world’s first virtual personal cruise assistant, ZOE - an artificial intelligence device that answers guest’s questions in their cabins; there’s also a ‘MSC for Me’ connected experience.

Designed as a ship for all seasons; MSC Grandiosa will spend the winter in the Mediterranean offering 7-night cruises to Genoa; Civitavecchia; Palermo; Valetta; Barcelona; and Marseille - with the unique concept of embarkation at any of the ports.
