Riviera Travel & Masters Wine

Riviera Travel & Masters Wine

Riviera Travel has partnered with renowned Masters of Wine, Susie Barrie and Peter Richards, to offer a selection of exclusive river cruise departures this year. Susie and Peter are perhaps best known for presenting the wine slots on BBC One’s Saturday Kitchen, which they did for over a decade. The duo also educates and entertains audiences on wine, whether it’s television and radio programmes or books and articles. During their time aboard Riviera Travel’s fleet of five-star ships, Susie and Peter will host lively after-dinner talks with quizzes and informal yet informative question and answer sessions to enhance customers’ knowledge and enjoyment of wine.

Susie and Peter will join Riviera Travel’s ‘Burgundy, the River Rhône & Provence’ cruise on 27th August 2018 and the ‘Cruise the Heart of Europe’ sailing departing 19th October 2018. Peter will be joining the ‘Rhine, Strasbourg & Heidelberg’ cruise on 23rd July and 20th August 2018, as well as the ‘Rhine & Moselle’ cruises on 25th July and 22nd August 2018.

The eight-day ‘Burgundy, the River Rhône & Provence’ cruise on-board the MS Swiss Corona, starts in Avignon and ends in Lyon, with return flights from Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester or Stansted. From the lush green vineyards of Burgundy to the sun-kissed hills of Provence and the wild ruggedness of the Ardèche gorges, to the medieval allure of Avignon - on this truly enthralling cruise every day is full of fascination.

The 15-day ‘Cruise the Heart of Europe’ sailing aboard the MS Robert Burns begins in Budapest and ends in Cologne and includes a one-way flight to Budapest returning by Eurostar to London St Pancras. Highlights from this trip include sailing through the stunning Rhine Gorge; guided tours of baroque Würzburg; Vienna; Bratislava and Budapest; as well as a live classical quartet recital on board.

Riviera Travel prides itself on its first-class service, dining and facilities. Their itineraries focus on delivering authentic local experiences and so this opportunity to gain expert insight into local wines aligns with the operator’s aims to enhance and heighten the customers’ experience.

Peter Richards, Master of Wine, commented, “We are constantly looking for new ways to enthuse people about wine. Joining Riviera’s travellers on tours through some of Europe’s finest wine country is one of the best ways we can imagine of doing just that. Wine is one magical way of discovering the fabulous places, people and stories that surround us – travel is another. That’s why we’re excited to be partnering with Riviera Travel, to help make their trips even more informative, delicious and fun.” For more details of Riviera Travel’s extensive collection of river cruises call 0800 484 0370.
