On each of the eight new sailings on Scenic’s fleet of custom built 5-star river ships guests will have a choice of ‘Scenic Enrich’ all-inclusive sightseeing and activities, ranging from hikes and bike rides to in-depth learning experiences that focus on the natural world, culture and history.

Weaving their way like a thread across the tapestry of Europe, connecting countries, cultures and traditions, is the diverse and historic river system which the Scenic Space-Ships have made their own. On these National Geographic cruises travellers will sail on the Rhine, Danube, Main and Moselle Rivers; through France’s Bordeaux region and Portugal’s Douro Valley. In Myanmar, the Irrawaddy river cruise takes guests past ancient stupas, historical sites and ever-changing landscapes.

Accompanying each sailing is a National Geographic expert who will give talks on board and accompany daily outings; a National Geographic photographer will also join all European sailings to share tips on technique and artistry. Joining the ‘Explore the gems of the River Danube’ in October 2018, is National Geographic Expert Teresa Fisher, who has written over 30 guidebooks and specialises in European cities.
