Cartagena is a beautiful city nestled in the corner of southeast Spain, and has been an important port for hundreds of years. Its coastal position has meant inhabitation by many different cultures, all of which have left a distinct mark on the regions culture and history (marks still very much visible today).

As you would expect from a Spanish city, Cartagena offers both tourists and residents a huge range of ways to enjoy the fantastic weather and lively atmosphere. There are, of course, dozens of beautiful sandy beaches that you can take a stroll across, go for a dip or top up your beautiful tan. There are also golf courses, campsites, country cottages and lodges, and an array of bars and shops you can discover along this fantastic coastline. Don’t forget to explore the area’s history, too – there are plenty of great museums and the Ciega Tower, the only surviving monument from the city’s Roman heritage, is absolutely not to be missed.
