Olbia in detail

Discover the edgy city of Olbia, Sardinia. Though this bustling industrial centre is not known for its aesthetics, it has a certain charm that can only be felt when immersing yourself in the buzz of Piazza Regina Margherita. Here you will find enough shops and restaurants to keep any tourist happy.

When you’ve had your fill of the modern attractions of Olbia, head to the Romanesque Chiesa di San Simplicio which, built in the late 11th century, is made completely of granite. It reflects an interesting mix of Lombard and Tuscan influences.

As the sun sets on Olbia, head to the Corso Umberto which becomes a pedestrian zone after 7pm. This boulevard makes a wonderful place for an evening stroll with the market vendors and their stalls of brick-a-back providing an ideal spot to pick up your holiday souvenirs. Tired feet? Stop inside the wonderful cafes and wine bars.
