Honningsvag in detail

Taking a stroll around Honningsvag sometimes feels as if you are stepping back in time; predominantly a small and intimate fishing village, the community is completely unique and well worth a visit. Despite its remote location and small population, Honningsvag is actually very popular with cruise ships and provides for them accordingly.

Being the most northerly point in Europe, the natural world is truly at its best in Honningsvag. As well as hopefully being able to catch a glimpse of the awe inspiring Aurora Borealis – the Northern Lights – Honningsvag is also only twenty miles or so from an area well known as the North Cape. The North Cape is one of the most unbelievable sites on earth. Framed by great waterfalls, forests and fjords, visitors to the region can experience a sun that never sets in summer, and never rises in winter. Granted, you may not want to live like that forever, but the experience is something that will last you a lifetime!
