Scenic Enrich Experiences

Scenic Enrich Experiences

Scenic are inviting holidaymakers to discover the finer things in life with the launch of their 2020 ‘Scenic Enrich’ activities; a range of luxury experiences exclusively available on its river cruise itineraries. A rare Sound of Music performance – staged on an Austrian hillside – is just one of a host of unique ‘Scenic Enrich’ experiences. The exclusive performance on the ‘Jewels of Europe’ itineraries takes place in the countryside outside of Salzburg, where much of the Oscar-winning movie starring Julie Andrews was filmed and includes all of its hit songs along with a traditional Austrian lunch.

On the ‘South of France’ itineraries, fans of classical and choral music can indulge their passion in one of Lyon’s greatest Baroque buildings, the 17th century Trinity Chapel where an exclusive acapella choir performance is offered in this wonderful setting as part of the ‘Scenic Enrich’ experiences. There’s also closed-door access to the 14th century Pope’s Palace in Avignon for a gala dinner and evening performance of Mozart, Vivaldi and Bach.

Guests who prefer their activities to be genuinely ‘out of this world’ won’t want to miss a guided tour of the fascinating Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow during the ‘Jewels of Russia’ cruise. This state-run facility contains more than 85,000 exhibits detailing the Soviet Union’s space exploration programme, with large sections on cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, the Sputnik satellite and the Soyuz missions. This will be followed by a glass of sparkling wine and a private Russian ballet concert at the majestic Palace of Prince Vladimir.

Scenic refers to its vessels as ‘Space-Ships’ to emphasize a higher than usual space ratio. There’s also a very high ratio of staff to guests. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the open seating Crystal Dining; additionally there are two alternative dinner venues - Portobello's for Italian cuisine and Table Le Rive, which offers a six-course tasting menu served with wine pairings. Occasionally, a barbecue lunch will be served on the Sun Deck. Unusually on a river vessel, room service is available for all passengers. Another break from the norm is that Scenic ships have two lounges.

Guests will relish the utmost in all-inclusive service and amenities: personalized butler service; an array of dining options; complimentary beverages available all day; and Wi-Fi. Also included are return flights from a selection of up to UK airports with free return airport chauffeur transfers. There’s also a no-fly option via Eurostar which includes travel in Standard Premier and First Class.
