Launched in 2009, the all-suite Silver Spirit boasts one of the highest space-to-guest ratios of any luxury ship and nowhere is this spaciousness more evident than in the suites, 95% of which feature a private teak veranda. All eight decks of this 540-passenger have an innovative design where style and substance coexist in harmony and each well-dressed space segues seamlessly from one to another.
The two Owner’s Suites, six Grand Suites, 26 Silver Suites, as well as Veranda and Vista Suites are nothing short of sumptuous. Each features a separate sitting area, walk-in wardrobe, and a marbled bathroom with full-size tub and separate shower. Silversea’s in-suite dining option invites guests to enjoy breakfast in bed, savour a late lunch on their veranda, or indulge in a romantic dinner served course by course in their private halcyon.
When it comes to the choice of dining venues this ship has few equals. Relais & Châteaux ‘La Collection du Monde’ dishes are on the menu each night in the elegant Restaurant; other options include Asian specialities in Seishen; La Terrazza, which boasts sumptuous Italian cuisine; as well as the romantic Stars Supper Club with its trendsetting ‘assiette plates’ and congenial atmosphere enhanced by a vocalist singing jazz classics. The intimacy of Le Champagne with its à la carte menu offers a night to remember; while the Grill on deck 10 features a unique volcanic ‘Black Rock’ cooking concept which is certainly a quirky take on alfresco dinners by the pool.
Silver Spirit has generous deck space with large swimming pool with Jacuzzis as well as a grill that serves comfort food such as pizzas and burgers as well as a variety of fresh salads. The show lounge stages musical recitals and song-and-dance productions and the sophisticated bars are worth lingering in; nowhere more so than the panorama lounge. There’s also a Connoisseur's Lounge which offers a selection of cigars, while the casino has a glamorous buzz.
The Spa, with hammam and Thermal Suite with heated chaise-lounges, is a blissful sanctuary. There are indoor and outdoor relaxation areas as well as an outdoor whirlpool. A wide range of invigorating therapies including facials, body wraps and massages are offered in the nine treatment rooms.
It is the all-inclusive concept that we particularly like on Silversea ships. While the price of a cruise might appear expensive at first glance, there’s an inherent value that’s beyond compare. The host of items included make for a cruise filled with indulgence and you won’t have to keep signing bills for drinks and other annoying incidentals.
